Please help me understand what this poem is about.
Freedom to Breathe by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn?
First of all, thanks for posting, it was nice to read this again. I think it's important to look at the poem with two different sets of optics. Look at it in its historical and social context (the russian revolution, communism and collectivism, etc) and look at it detached from said context and think about what it evokes at individual level.
