How to make a PC-ROM digital?

I have an old Sim 2 Disk, but my new computer is an ultrabook (lenovo Yoga 13) so I can't play them. And for some reason I really fancy Sims right now. Is there any way I can still play? I don't want to spend any money really.

Cdroms are technically digital file formats, but download cdburner xp. Convert the cdrom into an ISO file, transfer the iso file to the yoga with a flash drive, use windows 8's native image mounting software by right clicking on the iso and clicking mount, or download something like portablewincdemu to mount the iso and install like that.

I do this with a multitude of games and it works fine for me.
