Hi, I'm looking for a laptop that can be under $1,000. I want it to play Kerbal Space Program and other games from medium to high settings. I just don't know what kind because a lot of computers have jumpy prices and specs. Please help! 10 pts best answers.

$1000 is a pretty good budget in which you can get a decent gaming laptop.
Indeed the Lenovo Y510P is the best gamer under $1000 at this point in time… It is the top rated laptop under $1000 for quite a while now mainly because of it's high graphics performance. This laptop has not just one, but two very good graphics card embedded in it which makes it a very good gamer. It has a dual Nvidia Geforce GT 755 Graphics supported by 8 GB RAM which is ideal for any gaming- along with a very good processor- hard drive space, resolution, battery life, backlit keyboard etc…
Now there are a number of different Y510 P's out there, ensure that you get the one that has the intel core i7 and not i5 processor (the i7 is a better processor). Also, ensure you get the one with 8 GB RAM and not 6 and the one with the two graphics cards and not one.

Good Luck with gaming- you should be able to play any of today's games- most on ultra settings and a few top notch ones on medium settings.
That Lenovo should work extremely well for your purposes. It has more than enough RAM, CPU and graphics: You should be very happy with it. I believe it to be one of the better values out there.

I'm not recommended for you to get a laptop for gaming purpose. It is expensive comparing to get a computer. I know people have reason to get a laptop maybe because you travel alot, but with 1k budget, you can get powerful computer to play a games. Things to look for gaming specs is the VGA especially. Yeah, Lenovo Y510P is good choice. But i still prefer you could get computer for gaming. You can get a way better spec at the same price. Hope this would help you
