Are my laptop specifications good?

I have the chance to buy a brand new laptop. I'm gonna use it for college and my homework. It won't be for gaming. It's a custom built Lenovo Ideapad Z500

Specs:
i7 processor (quad) 3rd 3632QM @2.2ghz
8GB DDR3 RAM
Nvidia Geforce (2GB)
250GB Samsung EVO SSD

Those are good parts. It will run very smoothly. Just be sure to have other storage devices like External Hard drives or flash drives.

If you plan to use your laptop for Internet browsing and homework, the one you describe is a very good choice.

Its very good for just basic school work. In fact it should even handle medium gaming decently well.

edit: to clarify. If you guaranteed will not do any gaming, this laptop is overkill. For basic homework and light miltitasking, an intel core i3 will do just fine.
for heavier multitasking an i5 will suffice.
