Recommend good inexpensive speakers?

I'm looking for a speaker system that I can just play in my dorm room, it doesn't have to be loud and most likely I won't be using it much.
Bluetooth would be nice.
I'm mostly looking for something that plays the sounds crisp and clear, good bass, not muffled.
My laptop's (Lenovo Yoga Pro 2) sound is not that good…

"Inexpensive" is not a helpful word. For some people £1000 is inexpensive, for others inexpensive means less than £50.
Cheap and good don't generally come together. Say what you plan to spend, and then people with experience can give you a clear answer. If you are on a low budget, say under £50, I can recommend a used TDK Tremor 80 2.1 system consisting of a bass box and 2 satellite speakers. When it came out over 10 years ago the new price was about £70 but now you should be able to buy it used for maybe £10 to £25. It sounds great for the money, athough it is, like many cheap systems, over-rated, the wattage given is a peak value, the true (RMS) wattage is 25 watts for the sub and 7.5 watts each for the satellite speakers.

Depends on your budget. Audioengine has a nice bluetooth speaker, Bose Soundlink Mini is a good one too. I don't know what "inexpensive" is but I know the quality of sound would be on par with what most would want. Look on ebay and Amazon for best opportunities for getting something nice at a reasonable price.

Logitech Z506 is perfect for small rooms or dorms.

Just use a $20 - $30 bluetooth speaker from Wal-mart. They don't sound bad

Go to monoprice.com and find speakers for about 50.00 or so

IF you use your laptop as the player, you will likely need self amplified speakers. There are some decent PC speaker sets out there, but you'll need to go an a listening tour to tell which ones are not irritating to you. Usually this would be a reasonably cost efficient idea for a traveling system. Otherwise you need a receiver at minimum, probably a stereo receiver, and a nice pair of smaller full range bookshelf speakers of fair quality. Dayton makes a good set, and you can even buy the pair as a kit, to save money. (online at www.parts-express.com, or http://www.daytonaudio.com/index.php/loudspeaker-components/speaker-subwoofer-kits/speaker-kits.html/) There are Boston Accoustic models Polk audio models, in your form factor as well. Many, many more. Be careful in the small speaker market not to end up with a pair meant to be satellite speakers for surround sets though, as these will likely not be full range, and have a penchant for being beamy, which is fine for surround, but not so much as stand alone small systems. Small systems can image and stage profoundly well in small rooms, a feature you need not sacrifice to size.

Take a look at Dayton B-652 pretty good speakers for the price I think they even have a newer Blu tooth version now…

Perhaps you should look at your local Salvation Army or Goodwill.
