So i was looking at the Lenovo y510p and in the UK, starting price is £999.99 http://shop.lenovo.com/...ies/y510p/ and in the US the staring price is $819.00 which is £485.51 http://shop.lenovo.com/...ies/y510p/, the only real difference in spec is a blu-ray dive and 16gb of ram in the UK version and I can't see why that amounts to a £500 price difference, i might as well buy the one from the US and save my self £500 for the same product. Dose anyone know why the price is so different.
Why this laptop is cheaper in the US than the UK?

DON't buy the US version.
1. You will save NO money once the import tax has been added.
2. Power supply and software /DVD will all be set for US and not usable for UK.
Home made products are ALWAYS cheaper in the country they are produced in due to taxes. Does not mean that they are cheaper if you buy them from outside though. They turn into an expensive learning curve and you end up with a none usable piece of scrap half the time.
NEVER buy US electrical devices for use in the UK. They are NOT worth it.

It may be the import taxes are higher in the UK than the import taxes in the US. Just about everything comes in from China or Taiwan in the electronics field.
