I was typing something important on a social media platform (tumblr) when my laptop restarted and i lost the three paragraphs I had written. I was wondering if there's anything on my laptop (lenovo yoga) i could do to get it back or if i should just cut my losses and start over?
Computer restarted and deleted what I was typing?
Cut your losses, ma'am, and start typing again.
As you were typing on a social networking site there's nowhere on your computer that the text might have been saved. I.e. You'd have been typing directly into your web browser.
Depends which app you were using at the time. If you were using OneNote, then you wouldn't have lost anything at all.
Stuff is gone.
You should determine what caused the "lenovo yoga" with some OS to restart.
Nope. Re-type
Start over. It is gone. But you will remember the important points so will make it half as long. So better written.
The computer restarted and deleted. You never saved it so there was nothing to delete.
Power outages can do the same thing.
You start again. It is like me answering directly on Y.A. Nothing is saved until I press the "Submit" button… Then it goes someplace. Otherwise it is just on the monitor.
Unless I save the response by first creating a Word document and writing on it first and then "Saving that" first in Word… And then copy and paste it to Y.A. And then "Submit" so it is stored elsewhere.
I would like to give you some interesting tips. You could have used a text editor to type whatever you wanted, and then you could have made a file, and saved whatever you typed.
Furthermore you could have gone into your tumblr account, and then you could have either retyped everything from your file into your tumblr account, or maybe copy, and paste your content from your file into your tumblr account, and then you could have tried to save your content within your tumblr account.
In my opinion, I think if something is truly important to someone, then a backup would be created.
Lastly I think you should cut your losses, and start over.
