I'm going to get the Lenovo IpeadPad Z50-70 and i was wondering if i need to get a cooling stand as well.

Most well designed laptops should not need a cooling stand under normal use. If your laptop is overheating it's either because your are obstructing the cooling vents by putting it on an an unsuitable surface eg the bed or it may need servicing if the fans are choked with dust. Either way a laptop cooler only a temporary fix
