High end gaming preffers a good CPU?
For 3D, most important is the GPU (video chip), a quad-core i5 is good enough. Laptop use mobile GPUs, which are significantly slower than desktop video cards, you'll need to spend more money on a laptop to get a capable video chip. If you want the best, you'll want a desktop.
For example, the Lenovo y510p has a mobile geforce gt750m dual/sli, for example, companies of heroes 2 is unplayable (less than 30fps) even at low detail, unless you lower screen resolution.
I think an i5 would be perfectly suitable, no need for i7.
8GB of RAM is also a good enough amount, anything more is overkill.
The 1TB hybrid SSD/HDD is good, and a larger SSD component would make it better. I think do not go for anything less than the 24GB.
GPU 750m is good, and there's virtually no difference between that and the 755m.
I7 CPU's do not run very well on laptops as they do on desktop computers ( when I bought my it only lasted about three weeks, and the whole computer crashed, and I had to send it back). Since you want a good gaming laptop, I would suggest that you obtain CyberpowerPC FANGBOOK EVO HFX7-200 17.3-Inch Laptop ; MSI GT70 2OD-064US;9S7-176312 17.3-Inch Laptop or Alienware 14 14-Inch Gaming Laptop, 4th Gen Intel Core i5-4200M Processor up to 3.1GHz, 16GB Memory, 1TB HDD
Well i bought 1 of these lenovo's y510p yesterday brand new arrived today cost me £1000 and i have full HD, i7-4700QM, GT 755 SLI, 12gb ram, 1 TB HDD and 24GB SSD but this is not my main pc, my main one is a ultra high end gaming desktop pc
but more to your question yes a high end CPU makes hell load of a difference in games now adays because open worlds games seem to prefer higher end CPU's and this is probably the best value for money gaming laptop i've compared the gpu to the GT 770m on game-debate and there equal in power
oh and i have not tried out my new gaming laptop yet only just hucked it up but will soon test it on my massive games library on steam.origin and uplay
