I have a Lenovo Y510P laptop. It has a 1tb + 25gb hybrid drive. I'm assuming the hybrid means hdd + sdd? If so then how do I go about booting windows from the sdd so that it can turn on faster from shutdown?

Load Windows onto the 25GB SSD partition of the total hardware drive. Since that is the only one that has Windows on it, and you list that SSD/HD device as 1st bootable device in BIOS, that is what will happen.
