It varies by OS. There are many ways. Use the one for your model and OS. You omitted that info in your post. However just by uninstalling the junk programs that have gotten into your unit and then running malwarebytes you will be better off than doing the factory restore thing. The use of the word reset is new and it is used in Win 10. The Win 10 recovery is different than older versions. Read about it by using your search engine.
