I want to change my user account name on my Lenovo laptop?

Okay, so I've been trying to change my name on my Lenovo laptop but everytime I try it says nothing about "change name" or whatever. All it'll really let me do is change my user account to administrative or local or something like that. I would really like to change my name on this thing! Here's some info about my computer so maybe someone can help me?:

-Lenovo Laptop
-Windows 8 (or something like that)
-Ideapad P500 Touch is the brand name
-Intel Core i5

I do not have a "start" button that everyone says to use, I have a little folder looking thing in the bottom left corner right before the internet explorer app.

Someone please help me.

Go to contol panel -> users ->change your account name

I also want update my laptop name and found the users folder, but does not appear to allow me to change my account name. So can I move all my items in misnamed user file into a new file under my name or preferred Admin Asst name? And How do I do this without corrupting any of my files?
