Is it difficult to switch hard drives on my laptop?

My new lenovo y50 is being shipped in a few weeks. I also have an ssd that I want to put inside the laptop to replace it with the current hdd.

All I want is to have the OS (windows 8.1) in my new sdd, but do I need to buy windows 8.1 again? Do laptop companies usually ship the installation disc with it?

What happens once I boot up the laptop with the new ssd?

I want to be ready to deal with it all once I get it in the mail.

You can migrate the OS to the new SSD. You would probably need a USB enclosure for one of the drives to do that. Contact Lenovo support about any disk (probably not with laptop) or Micro$oft about how to make the switch.
