I'm wondering if this laptop is good for gaming. I've seen videos of it running bf4 on medium settings but is it good for modded minecraft? I also might play more recent games like The Forest and stuff. I don't mind lowering the quality.im also a spiderman fan so will it handle spiderman web of shadows, shattered dimensions and spiderman 3. I won't be playing any recent ones cuz I have a xbox one thank you. If this is too much then recommend another laptop.budget is under 500 but will go to 600 if necessary.
Is the lenovo ideapad g505s good for moderate gaming?
The Lenovo Ideapad Y510p features Intel Core i7-4700MQ and NVIDIA GeForce GT 755M SLI dedicated graphics card. Http://amzn.to/1nkjR4K
The Intel Core i7-4700HQ is a top notch laptop quad core processor. It uses the Haswell structure and is made in 22nm. Because of hyper threading, each of the cores can work with as many as 8 threads in parallel, which will lead to an enhanced use of the CPU.
The way that the Core i7-4700HQ performs is much better than others such as a Sandy Bridge processor. This is basically because of the enhancements that have been made. It performs just like the Ivy Bridge based Core i7-3740QM
The NVIDIA GeForce GT 755M SLI is a top notch graphic choice that can be used with laptops. It has two GeForce GT 755M that are equipped with cards that have a 28nm GK107 core that is founded on the Kepler architecture. This means that each card will have a single frame or AFR mode. So, it might have a little bit of a stutter when used in low fps ranges that are lower than 30fps. This occurs due to the fact that there are different time spans between the 2 frames. This could also be for things such as unusual stops between frames that are right behind one another.
The GT 755M SLI has the same performance as the GeForce GTX 770MX or GTX680, but this will depend on the speed of the clock and how the memory is configured. Based upon the game that you are enjoying, there might be plenty of differences, which could also be based upon how well the SLI scales are performing. All in all, the most recent games can be enjoyed in 1080p and other high settings.
Somehow the IdeaPad Y510p covers the range from success to failure. One of the most distinctive factors is without a doubt the Lenovo UltraBay.
The interchangeable Bay allows the user to quickly adapt the laptop to the present task - no matter if this is a Blu-ray movie (insert the optical drive) or to play demanding games (change the optical drive by a secondary GPU).
Despite the emergence of micro stumbling and the dependency of the most recent drivers, IdeaPad Y510p has the makings of a best seller. What other laptop is sold for 1,000 dollars and offers the performance of a system with a graphics GeForce GTX 680M or GTX 770M? It would be difficult to stuff more performance into a 15 "- at least if the weight and dimensions are important.
In some areas, the laptop is less than perfect: very shiny plastic parts, high temperatures and a shortish battery life can put off some potential buyers. The spongy touchpad and the inappropriate Turbo Boost also lower the overall score.
On the positive side, the laptop has a Full 1080P HD antiglare display with exceptional brightness. We also like the backlit keyboard, ease in updating and a good sound system. Taking everything into account, the IdeaPad Y510p is an interesting idea and recommended as a multi-purpose portable.
