Just pulled out my laptop and found the glass lid shattered, everything else seems to be working fine, but I looked it up and it is out of warranty. Was wondering if anyone else has gone through this and what the cost would be to have it fixed? And whether I should send it in, or where to take it. It was bought from a bestbuy that has since gone out of business. Should I find another bestbuy somewhere to take it?

You'e looking at anywhere from $50 - 75 for the parts and about $100-150 for the labor. Not a bad deal. Now, if you don't take your laptop out around a lot, you might try plugging in a separate monitor and see if it will work for you.

Take it to a local shop the digitizer the touch screen part is about $250 to replace.

Find that bestbuy and telephone ahead. Might be they don't want to deal with those replacements. Your local computer fixit entrepreneur might do just as well [parts have to be ordered by both] and could easily be cheaper

A new screen is about $110 on eBay. A shop may charge up to $100 to replace it.
