MacBook Pro 13 or Lenovo y510p?

Both computers seem to be very intriguing to me. C: The specs of the Lenovo y510p seem to be better than that of the MacBook, but I don't really like Windows 8 or Windows 7 as operating systems, while I love the Mac's OS.

Then again, I know Macs aren't really built for gaming, especially since I'm only intending on buying the 13" as the 15" is too expensive. Windows are, and the better specs of the Lenovo would be essential for games like Minecraft and The Sims. Not to mention that their isn't Fraps for Mac and I don't like Quicktime as a recording program, so that's an issue for me.

I also really like the retina display of the Mac, and I prefer how the backlight of the Mac is white as opposed to the Lenovo's red backlight.

If for anything, I'm using the laptop for personal use. Tumblr, YouTube, Photoshop, gaming (only non-graphic intensive games like Minecraft and the Sims) are among my hobbies.

So, I love the intuitive design of the Mac, but the Lenovo's better specs and cheaper price is also something to consider.

What do you guys recommend?

I think Lenovo y510p is better, Actually my friend have recently purchase this, and I have seen all the specification of this model. You should go with this.

Nothing wrong with Lenovo. It is just below average quality, so it is fine. Lower quality materials, such as cheaper plastic case, will usually make the price cheaper. The review of this Lenovo (http://www.notebookcheck.net/Review-Lenovo-IdeaPad-Y510p-Notebook.97470.0.html) refers to the Y500 (same case) for details of the materials:

"While the lid and the wrist rest are made of brushed aluminum, the base is completely composed of plastic. The surfaces will soon be covered with smudge despite the matte finish because the laptop is susceptible to greasy fingers.

"The glossy keyboard bed and display bezel is even more sensitive. Particularly the latter proves to be a real dust magnet. Fingerprints and scratches are also an issue here. The wide plastic bezel basically does not quite fit into the overall picture. It mars both the quality impression as well as the looks.

"Although the casing tends to yield in a few areas, such as the keyboard's left and right area, the stability is on a satisfactory to good level. Only the touchpad yields extremely at its sides and toward its bottom. The same applies to workmanship. The positive overall impression is marred by a few irregular material transitions."

It sells for about US$1100.
You would need to spend $200 more to get a 15-inch MacBook Pro that is similar-> http://www.usedmac.com/products/apple-macbook-pro?product_id=3892
