Today I bought a headphone and microphone headset, and went to plug it into my laptop, but there's only one jack, with a headphone photo over it. I have no idea where to plug my microphone in (i could live without them both in at the same time) I plugged the mic into the headphone jack, but it just recognizes it as a headphone?
Microphone jack on a Lenovo laptop?
Just check the following - is there a pinhole close to the built-in camera on your laptop? That would be the built-in microphone.
You could however play around with the settings under the "sound" icon on control panel.
How may jack plugs are on the headphone set?
(Reading your question, probably 2 )
The Old ones have 2 and the new ones have 1(Mic/Audio Out combined) .
Your socket on the lenovo (See user manual) is probably the new type that combines mic and earphones in one.
The Options Are.
Get a new modern headset with a single jackplug.
Or an adapter to combine the headset you have already…
