MSI, alienware, asus rog, lenovo, Hp, WHAT BRAND?

There's no such thing as overall best. There are "bests" for particular purposes, and best in a particular price ranges.

But other than MSI, none of those "brands" actually "make" a laptop… They sell laptops made by ODMs (Original Design Manufacturer) under their brand name.

Quanta sells to (among others) HP, Lenovo, Apple, Acer, Toshiba, Dell, Sony, Fujitsu and NEC
Compal sells to (among others) Acer, Dell, Toshiba, Lenovo and HP/Compaq
Wistron (former manufacturing & design division of Acer) sells to Dell, Acer, Lenovo and HP
Inventec sells to Toshiba, HP and Lenovo
Pegatron sells to Asus, Toshiba, Apple, Dell and Acer
Foxconn sells to Asus, Dell, HP and Apple
Flextronics (former Arima Computer Corporation notebook division) sells to HP

Another reason why it's hard to say "best" when many so called "competitors" are made on the same production line. You might want to consider having a laptop built to your specifications by Clevo distributor. But before putting one together, it would be useful what you are going to do with it.
