My Samsung S3 Mini isn't showing up on my Lenovo laptop?

When I connect it to my laptop the cable to connection symbol appears asking if I want to connect as media device or camera.
It is also able to charge fully. I'v downloaded kies but I don't know what else to do.
The error message says attention to fid software on PC that can recognized your device. Service Pack 3, Windows Media Plater, version 10 or higher for Windows XP or Android File for Mac Os must be installed.

I've been searching the web for solutions but nothings worked so far.

Note: the error message occurred previously before but I was able to fix it after downloading the keys. But not the kies doesn't help.

Go to the settings on your phone and make sure you allow data transfer, it may be a security feature on your phone.

For my new phone my laptop had trouble loading the USB driver for it. I had to go myself and find the Windows USB drivers for the phone and install them. THEN I plugged my phone into the laptop again and it worked.
