Honestly, I would not recommend a Lenovo laptop outside of a Thinkpad because I have had lot of issues with them, esp the Ideapad. 2 of them had cracked frame from opening and closing the lid, one has trouble booting sometimes.
And I wouldn't recommend Acer as the motherboards don't last long and has high failure rates within 3 years.
Toshiba and ASUS however have the lowest failure rates in 3 years than all laptop manufactures in the world in 2013.
SSD is a good choice for speed (fast boot, very responsive like a smartphone) if you don't transfer or download lots of movies because it has shorter life span than HDDs when read/write a lot.
Toshiba has some nice offering but it starts at a cost of 1499.99USD.
