Which is Best Laptop In Performance?

Between these two laptops, the HP one actually offers worse performance even in terms of the graphics chips… Here is why:

1. The i5-4200U CPU is a ULV version @1.6 GHz with Turbo up to 2.6 GHz on one core whereas the i5-3230M offers 2.6 GHz by default and turbo up to 3.2 GHz… I5-4200U offers better battery backup but CPU performance is 30% less than i5-3230M - 30% I repeat…

2. The GT 740M 2GB in the HP is not the better GPU - it is worse… Why you ask? The version of the GT 740M 2 GB that comes paired with ULV CPUs (in this case, i5-4200U) is a downclocked 64-bit version… Translation; it is a normal GT 740M 128-bit basically cut in half (one less memory channel) simply to reduce power consumption and heat… The performance of the GT 740M 64-bit is comparable to the GT 635M or only slightly better… The only advantage it has it half as much power consumption, less heat, and GPU-Boost 2.0 tech… But in terms of performance, it isn't much better than the GT 635M - a few percent better at most which is negligible…

Therefore;
The Lenovo in this case, offers a 30% more powerful CPU, a comparable (or negligibly better) GPU - albeit more power consuming and more heat - And for much less price… And don't forget that Lenovo offers better customer care and Lenovo laptops in general are much higher quality of build than HP…
