Which laptop?: Lenovo Y50 or Alienware 18?

Which laptop should I get? Which is the better deal? The new Y50 just came out:

Lenovo Y50 IDEAPAD 39.6 cm (15.6 inch) Notebook (Intel Core i7-4710HQ, 2.5GHz, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 860M, Win 8.1) black

I can get that at £780

However, I can get a new Alienware 18 too, which has 2 years warranty left:

Shipped in 9/10/2014, 1920x1080 screen, warranty to 2016, 4700MQ, 8 gig ram, dual 765M SLI, 750GB 7200rpm at £1100.

Which is the better deal?

Thanks guys

Added (1). Sorry, the alienware was shipped in 9/10/2013, not 2014*

MINUS STUDENT DISCOUNT (which they don't verify, by the way; you can even just tell them you're planning on going back to school) = $1325.

THEN, if you're slick, you call them back and tell them you want to cancel and buy from a third party vendor to avoid tax and get faster shipping, and they are (currently) docking another 5% to retain you!

= $1259

This. Is. A. STEAL. And I just bought it, myself! Compared to the hugely more expensive, hulking and heavy Alienware 18, it is a no-brainer.

It depends upon you. If you get off boasting that you have this awesome Alienware and want to see people around you drooling over something priced nearly 2x what it should be… Then yeah, go for the Alienware. You do realize of course, that not only does it have an 18 inch screen, but at *20* lbs (9.1kg) you aren't going to want to carry that very far or often…

The Lenovo won't have the performance of dual Radeon R9 290x graphics cards, but given that the Lenovo is half the price of the Alienware, you could buy a kickass desktop gaming machine and the Lenovo for the price of just the Alienware. Note - scratch any plans to use the Alienware in class, its too damned big. You could also purchase an extended warranty from Lenovo. For that matter, for just a couple of hundred $$$ you could get 3 year ADP coverage from Lenovo. The 3 year ADP from Lenovo is just $200 (at least in the US). Compared to the Lenovo, that 2 year warranty on the Alienware is but a $50 value… Oops - and the Lenovo weighs but 5.5 pounds, just slightly over 1/4 the weight.

You are going to save more with the levono, i like windows 7 more, but the levono can just have windows 7 installed. I go with levono. Other than that, the specs are pretty similar
