Why won't Grand Theft Auto Vice City run?

This is an old classic I wanted to fire up on my computer, but to my dismay a message popped up saying: this app can't run on your PC. And thats it, it doesn't matter if I run it in compatibility mode or not. I get the same message every time. I have a Lenovo G505s Laptop running windows 8.1 FYI
