My lenovo g510 froze while i was watching advd on it, had to romovee the battery to turn it off

So did you have a question? You could also turn it off by pressing the power button for 5-10 seconds.

Probably caused by reading a bad DVD. You can try Alt + Ctrl + Del to open task manager and kill the non responding processes or just take the DVD out.

And you won't have to take out battery if you want laptop to switch off. Just press and hold power button.
