I own a Lenovo G505s notebook PC (My first mistake was buying a Lenovo notebook) and I have put a few games on it, the problem is the game I happen to play will run nice and smooth for a while then it will start slowing down in the worst way until the framerate drops to about 8. Then after a while it will speed up again and repeat this stupid cycle until I turn it off. Under the hood is an AMD A8-5550M APU with a AMD Radeon HD 8550G Graphics. I have 6GB of Memory. And I have already gone into the Catalyst control centre and tried adjusting game performance but to no avail.
Why is my computer constantly lagging?
Since you have a lot of memory it may be that your cpu is maxing out or… You may need to delete some files from your hard drive
if neither are the problem the you most likely have malware and viruses on your computer
malwarebytes is a good malware removal tool for all computers and AVG is good for antiviruses
additionally if there are programs you don't like/need/want (*cough CONDUIT cough*) then ADVANCED UNINSTALLER is your man
First reason they are not gaming laptops they tend to overheat after continous use especially playing games, secondly the card you mentioned HD 8550G is a below average performer in its series, here is the link that shows its benchmarks: http://www.notebookcheck.net/...651.0.html, the best thing you could do is get yourself a laptop cooler that may help a bit but not take all your troubles away, also modify the game settings try to play the games on low or medium setting but not high or ultra. Hope this helps.
