The third prong on my lenovo z710 charger broke off. Can i still use the charger with only 2 prongs? Is it safe? What is the chance my motherboard might get fried? Or what is the chance something might catch on fire? All answers are appreciated.

Buy a new three prong plug and install it on the cord. Electronic devices depend on the ground pin to drain off static electricity that can do serious harm to computer equipment.

Yep, simply buy another cord to plug into the power supply side. Local stores will have it. Walmart, radio shack, second hand stores etc.
