I'm really stuck on which one to get.I'll be using it only to play modded Minecraft and watch movies/YouTube.I'm looking at a price of $550 and below. The setting low/medium because I don't expect it to max out I'll the settings. Preferably with windows eight and a touch screen if its a laptop but again these are just preferences. Preferred brands Samsung, lenovo, dell. I don't know if I'll use it for seventh grade, with that I'm leaning more towards the laptop side but then again their more expensive so that's another reason to buy a desktop.oh yeah and I'm not building my own desktop so don't you go blah blah blah build desktop blah blah bla.NO! When it comes to that I'm retarded so yeah… Thank you for any answers.

Get an assembled desktop. You will get good configuration for the desktop under that budget. You can buy desktop components online and get it assembled from a Computer shop.

I think the laptop is better in case if you are travelling lot of time from one place to another, you are professional, you are working lots of time, but if you are using computer one or two hours, you're not working or your student and you mostly not travel then purchasing desktop is a good idea.

Just weight until you get to 10th grade, i know it wil suck, but you will have the money to get a good laptop that can do games and other stuff very well and it will be portable. However if you can't weight just get a desktop they are cheaper but you can't move them around if you try to get a 500 dollar laptop you will end up with ****

Get a laptop. They are portable: ) You may want to take it somewhere and play minecraft and watch videos. You can't do that with a desktop.

In my opinion laptop is a better choice. It's more convenient. Not heavy, you can carry it around. I think you'll like it better.

I love how everyone told the 7th grader to get a laptop for their travelling and whatnot xD Lol's aside, for what seems to be needed a desktop PC would make more sense. Not to mention the upgrading possibilities in your future, as your needs will definitely be changing over time. Laptops are more costly to both repair and upgrade.
