I used a GTX 660 for about a year and a half and got around 35-45 FPS on medium-high settings.
But I recommend getting at least a GTX 750Ti at the absolute least. It's an old card, but it still performs well on some games.
It depends upon your power supply and whether it has the power and auxiliary power connector(s) for graphics cards. Somehow the info about your computer became truncated. The newer Nvidia cards with Maxwell chip are efficient and gaming cards that should not need auxiliary power begin with GTX 750 or 750 Ti (which use 60 watts from PCIe slot) or GTX 1050 or 1050 Ti (which typically use 75 watts from PCIe slot). So it depends whether your computer has room for a full height double slot card.
I personally was using a GTX 750 Ti which was actually capable of playing the games I play in Linux Steam, but am now running a GTX 1060 which uses 120w, so it requires a 6-pin power connection (some have 8-pin). I'm running a 7 year old Dell XPS 8100 with i5 650 3.2 GHz, 8 GB RAM, and OEM 350w PSU that only has a single 6-pin connector for a graphics card. With the GTX 750 Ti my whole PC only used 150w max and with the GTX 1060 it uses 210w max (AC input measured with Kill A Watt meter). I can dual boot Win7, but normally run Linux.
