Any way to charge a laptop without its charger?

My dog chewed up my laptop charger and it doesn't work anymore. My laptop is a Lenovo Thinkpad T61 which came out in like 2005 or something so they don't really make them anymore and I searched all over the internet for a new charger but i was only able to find the ac adapter cable, which I already have and it works perfectly fine. I need the actual charger. Are there any other ways I can charge the laptop, or is there an external charger or something that I can buy online?

Look at the specification for the charger. The secondary side will show a DC voltage and a current in either amps or milliamps. Note also that voltage x current in amps = power in watts. Next get an ac - dc transformer which converts 120 v to the needed DC volts and which has an amp rating at least as big as the specification (amps can be greater than spec, but not less, voltage should be what is specified). You will need a connector that fits into the charger port. Contact your local Radio Shack as they are likely able to help.

If you look for you r laptop's requirement or go to Targus web site
http://www.targus.com/uk/chargers
This the site I have used many times here in the UK, select what type of charger you want and then go from there most come with various ends so that they will fit your laptop and I find that they are even better then the OEM

Well you can buy another adapter with the same dc voltage output like your old one. Also you cld just cut up the chewed part and tape the good ends together.
