I'm looking for the best laptop for editing photos and draw digital drawings. I have my eyes on Lenovo Yoga 2 pro since it's a touch screen that I could use as a tablet, and the screen is better than retina, but I my friends says it's no good for these kind of things, and it's kinda small and a bit expensive too…
By budget is around 1000 US dollars, and I'm looking for a computer that other than photo editing also can play games like broken sword, League of legends, or maybe NBA 2K14:)
When I shopped around for a laptop, I made spreadsheet up with the processor and graphics ratings according to CPUbenchmark.net. Also take into account the amount of memory. Read up on the processors, when you have it narrowed down. Intel chips usually outperform AMD in many benchmarks, but not all. I decided on a desktop and got an i7-3770, with a Radeon HD 7570 and 10 g of ram. More than I will ever need.
My daughter has a Lenovo laptop with an i5, and it has been a great machine.
While gaming relies on GPU, most photo editing does not because it is 2d, not 3d. For photo editing the CPU is more important than a GPU. Some photo editors can use some aspects of the graphics, but rely more heavily on multi core processing, and CPU and bus speed.
As for Windows 8, it is not a bad OS, people are just not fond of the new menu system. Other than that, the desktop looks like Windows 7.
