I have a Lenovo V570 laptop with 6 GB RAM with an Intel Core i5-2450m CPU. It has a 6GB (2GB & 4GB) PC3-10600 DDR3 1333MHz SDRAM SODIMM DIMM 204-pin Memory.
The max memory it can have is 8 GB, so I can add another 2 GB RAM. I'm willing to spend around $50 to upgrade memory, if it's worth it. Does anyone know which would be my best option?
You will only have 2 RAM slots, therefore you must remove the 2 GB stick and replace it with 4 GB.
Sell the 2 GB stick to regain some of the cost or fit it to another laptop.
Alan is correct, but it will also depend on your operating system and what you are doing with the laptop. If your operating system is not 64 bit then you will see no difference between 6 and 8 Gb of RAM as it is not using all of the 6 it currently has. Also if you are just surfing the web and doing e-mail, save your money. Unless you are doing some kind of gaming or computer aided design the 6 Gb will work for you.
