Can I disable my laptops key board?

Hello there I have a lenovo lap top and I have opened it after 1 year. There's a problem with the key board and it keeps spamming q. I'm not able to get pass through the password cause of the keyboard. Any one know how to disable it so i'm able to acess it?

2 choices buy a cheap keyboard and plug it in and it will take over. Replace your old keyboard - quite simple and not expensive.

I don't think you can unless you can get to the BIOS screens and look at that to see if you can disable it.
I would first pick the (Q) key off and see if there's anything holding the contact down (may just be some gunge ) which you can clean off with a cotton bud then reboot to a working laptop

I don't think Francis's idea will work as you say you can't get past the log in so therefore your machine will not install drivers for he new keyboard

I doubt you can disable your KB in your BIOS, so you would have to disconnect it from the main board, then you would be able to use an external KB. There's always replacing the KB as well.
