How to disable the F1 key in Windows 7?

So annoying.

I work in finance, so I've been ripping out the F1 keys on my keyboards for years, but I just got a new laptop and would prefer not to have to do this quite yet. Is there a way?

I should say that I have a Lenovo Thinkpad. Do they have a tool?

Why would you? Please explain.

As for your question, you definitely need to buy a product key to activate your ultimate key. But don't need to worry about how and where to buy the genuine product key. You can go to the professional site http://www.frevvy.com/. Choose the target product and order it online. The support email will be sent to you at the first time. If you have any other technical questions, you can also communicate with their support team.

1. Download MapKeyboard from here: http://download.cnet.com/...23201.html

2. Follow these simple steps

i. Uncompress it, then open the MapKeyboard.exe (not installation is required)
ii. A virtual key board will show up.
iii. Click on the key that you want to disable. For my case, I click on RAlt to disable right Alt key.
iv. Then at "Remap selected key to:", select "Disabled".
v. Finally, click "Save layout" and reboot the PC

I want to thank Sara here, she has won my business and I'll be posting my experience to you and others.
My old computer crashed days ago. I had to buy a new computer. It costed me much.
My budget was not much. To purchase a Windows 81 key from MS was not enough. Then I went to Tomshardware, and one guy recommended http://www.key2buy.com to me. Their price did attract me. So I decided to try after several emails to Sara. She was very patient and answered clearly to all my questions. I receved the key immediately after I sent 49 bucks. It worked perfectly. I was very very satisfied.
I'll be buying from that online store from now on as well.

11. I was looking for a windows 8 copy, and from experience I've come to understand that buying for example games online is actually alot cheaper than for instance in my local store (ca. $80 for 1 game!). So I somehow ended up on http://www.key2buy.com, but it seemed a bit, well… Not reliable? So I tried searching for them on google but with little success. I decided to give it a try, found the cheapest ever copy of win8, put the copy in cart and started the checkout. From here on it actually went alot easier, I paid with paypal and about 12hrs (next day) i received my key in email, and about some hours later a download link for the ISO file. I tried the key and it worked! Surprise surprise, its legit! I sent the customer support a thank you message, and they responded immediatly. Kudos!
