Can i install a new graphics card on my laptop?

I want to upgrade my graphics card on my laptop. I've got Lenovo IdeaPad Z500 with NVIDIA GeforceGT 740M?

If not directly installing another one, what changes can be made to have a better graph. Card in my laptop?

Unless your an alienware your SOL. If you want to game, build a desktop unless your rich and can afford buying a new $2,000 laptop every 4 years.

Nothing you can do but run desktop at lower mode and lower gfx settings on games.

I haven't researched that model, but 99% of all laptops graphics card is built into the motherboard. I have a feeling yours is too.

Sorry but unless you have a VERY specific model laptop (some high end lenovo laptops or the newest line of alienware) you can't upgrade the cpu or the gpu… If you tried you could seriously damage the computer… And the laptop motherboards for sale are the ones that only have the cpu (i have never seen on with a dedicated gpu on it for sale) you would have to manually get the chips and program the firmware and solder the gpu on… Which you have a 99.999% chance of destroying all of it… Motherboards generally cost about 60% of the laptop and the gpu is 20% to 30% of the remaining… So if you want to waste money go ahead

Upgrade RAM to 8GB

There are no GPU upgradable laptops. High end gaming laptops have the GPU on a removable card. This is to give choices of configuration of different models, not upgrading. They do not sell new MXM cards for retail. You may find used ones.
This is your motherboard. The GPU is soldered to it. No MXM card present. Can i install a new graphics card on my laptop - 1
