Added (1). Details: It is a Lenovo B560 which came with Win7 Home installed. At some point the recovery feature failed and I had to install from a pirated Win7 Ultimate disc. If I format it and install Win7 Home from another pirated disc and activate with my legal CDKEY under the laptop, will it work as genuine and get Win10 upgrade?
If your so-called "pirated" installation of Win7 activates, then you will (at some point) be offered the free *downgrade* to Windows 10.
Because you don't have a set of "recovery disks" (which All computer manufacturers prompt end users to create following the initial setup of a new computer… Since as long ago as 2002, at least) you are, in a sense, being protected by higher forces from the perils of Windows 10.

IF you install pirated Windows 7, then you are installing a pirated copy!
You MUST install the valid correct version, Did your original PC have Home or OEM version?
