Can I put a Sandisk U100 ATA SSD (128gb) in an old Lenovo Thinkpad X61s?

Recently I was DJing in a bar and a huge speaker fell on my beloved ASUS UX31E, crushing part of it. The damage isn't anywhere near where the SSD drive is so I'm fairly sure it is unharmed.

Anyway I need to replace the whole laptop as there's no chance of repair. What I'm considering doing is buying an old Lenovo Thinkpad ('cos I love thinkpads to death), ripping the old 128GB Sandisk U100 ATA SSD out of the ASUS and putting it into the Lenovo.

What I'm not sure about is if the ATA connectors in the Lenovo will accept the new drive or if I'll have to buy some kind of adapter?

any ideas?

The plugs are the same for all SATA. But for the Lenovo only uses SATA I, and the SSD is SATA III, it will fit and work, but it will be slowed down to the speed of SATA I which is 1.5 GB/s where SATA III is 6 GB/s

It will work, but in Sata II mode (if you flash bios with unofficial bois). Official bois support only sata I

I'm not really sure. Your current SSD is ATA, so you need to find a laptop with ATA, not SATA, 'cause there's not enough space for any adapter there.
Make sure Lenovo Thinkpad X61s has ATA
