Computer Says it is Connected to the Internet but Will Not Connect?

I got a Lenovo Ideapad p500 a couple of months ago. Everything was running smoothly until now.

Now any network I connect to says I'm connected, but when I try to launch games or Chrome, Firefox, or Internet Explorer, it won't connect.

I turned off laptop, modem and router, no specific order. Waited 10+ seconds and powered on in this order-- modem, router and laptop. IMPORTANT: after turning on an item, wait before turning on next one until you see correct indicator lights on the one that is powering up.
Also--while on my password protected home wireless router connection, speed of page-loading increased greatly when I turned off private windows firewall. Need to clear you internet explorer… Hit control panel then network and then clear history listed and clear out everything I mean everything you can and check settings and put your home page to default… Go to advance and reset internet explorer and settings… When done unplug pull battery out and restart… Satisfied with your SEO tool? You're missing out a lot.
