Damage battery error in lenovo Z 50-70?

I have a lenovo Z 50-70 laptop. It was working good and have a battery backup of average 4 hrs. Suddenly one day i got an error that battery is damage please replace it.
My laptop battery was working fine. How can any battery stop working suddenly without any indication.
Is this problem is related to BMS. Can I repair my battery.

Battery failures like this normally occur when the battery has been partially or deeply discharged and then left for an extended period without recharge.

All you can do is recharge fully then switch off the mains and use the battery until it is fully used up. Then recharge fully again immediately. Repeat this 2-3 times.

If the battery recovers, fine. If not it is time for a new battery.

Some batteries can fail with an open cell (out of 6 or 9 cells). That makes the battery show zero volts, won't charge nor power the laptop. Time for a new battery. This failure can happen suddenly, though not that common.
The fact that when you unplug the AC adapter, the machine shuts down means the battery has "suddenly died"
Only if the battery is still in the warranty period (usually 1 year for batteries), you can try to get a warranty replacement. Once over a year old, you have to pay for a new one.
