I'm pinned between the listed lenovo and asus.
If I could get pros and cons for each that would be fantastic,
oh and only graphics card/tech savvy people please.
For a prospective gamer like me, which laptop can I get for around $1000?

Dunno what you mean by prospective but you could get a pretty good desktop for 600 if you build it yourself and if you're not up to the challenge you can just go to your local computer shop where they build gaming computers you should have no problem with that budget laptops get outdated so fast and 9 out of 10 times you can't even replace the gpu. I ran into this problem when I got my very first computer which was an Xps m1530. Got outdated after a year of using it.

The Lenovo Y510p. But don't get it because the new model is coming out very soon. The new one is the Y50
