I have a Lenovo IdeaPad 110 with Windows 10, it's less than 1 year old how can i make faster like it just came out of the box. It was "scrapped" by the original owner because it became too slow and sluggish i have tried using it but it's taking hours to do simple tasks like cleaning out temporary files and do optimisations suggested by the anti virus and it's so slow web pages don't want to load
How can i make Windows 10 faster on my laptop?
You could possibly do a partial factory reset or go though and delete everything you don't need
If it has a mechanical hard drive the biggest thing that will improve its performance would be to replace it with an SSD (Solid State Drive).
Optimising the hard drive, removing an unnecessary startup programs with have a marginal effect. A factory reset will do exactly that restore it to our if the box condition but after windows has updated itself, you have installed your antivirus and other programs it will start to slow again.
Manage programs on startup, with MSCONFIG
Do disk check for errors.
Clean up disk files so at least 25% is open.
Defrag files.
Make the virtual memory managed by Windows.
Increase RAM if you must multi-task.
Reinstall Windows (NOT FACTORY RESET) to refresh operating system.
This will not affect personal files and installed programs.
Speed of Internet sites might be from wireless connection, your service provider, your local network, traffic at destination webpage.
I would suggest that you run two free programs, which I do regularly, namely Advanced System Care; and Sm art Defrag.
Upgrade the storage and ram. Upgrade the storage to an SSD and maybe add more RAM if possible.
