How to make stylus work on pc?

My brother has an Asus Chromebook and it came with a stylus. I have a Lenovo Flex 3 PC and I tried his stylus on it and it didn't work. I figure they both use touch screen technology so there should be a way I can use his stylus on mine. Any thoughts on how to make this work?

There are 2 kinds of touch screens, and they work completely differently. Most touch screen laptops are just like cell phones, designed to be operated with your finger. No hard stylus will work on these (like for Surface tablets, Samsung Note phones, that sort of thing). You can use those cloth-dome-tipped stylii all day long, but not an "active" stylus.

Whichever the Asus uses, yours uses the other one. Nothing you can do to make it work, it is a hardware issue.
