How to watch a dvd on my new lenovo laptop?

I put the dvd in the compartment, lock it down and push it in but nothing pops up. It is spinning but I expected it to start playing but nothing happens on my screen.

You need to install a dvd player, try running windows media player and see if it can play the dvd some versions can't

Read manual if computer plays DVD.

You need a third party media player programme. I guess dvdfab free media player is quite ok for you to do that.
