has 2515 score cpu, 6GB RAM, 500GB HDD, basic 15.6 size about 4.6 pounds. DVDRW

Acer at $400 after rebate is cheapest i5-5200U available. Well featured, but like HP and Dell, Acer is not great reliability. Still full featured at $400 can't be beat

i5-5200U 3523, 8gb 1tb touchscreen 6 pounds big battery

Business level $440 http://www.adorama.com/...09TUS.html
T440 has higher reliability record. 4 pounds, i3-4030U 2708 score 4gb ram, 500gb 7200rpm, extra features.
When thinking Macbook air, Thinkpads have a good history. This is a beautiful business level with lots of extras. Not as fast as the Acer.

$480 Thinkpad L440 has no webcam, but model number shows 3 year warranty

Like the T440, business level. Weighs 5 pounds. 1400x900 resolution screen, fastest i5-4300M 4426 score, 8GB RAM dvdrw
This is a nice balance also. It is thicker than the T440, no cam, but offers a higher resolution speed and fastest cpu of the bunch. The CPU is 66% faster than the MacAir. Should be sturdy against drops and liquid spill.

You have to decide which of these is best in appearance. The Thinkpads have good keyboards.
I did not find any better for the price. These are each very well priced for what they offer you.

You should not need to go higher in price than these.
