I can't open the disc tray on my laptop

I have a Lenovo Ideapad 320, but I'm having difficulty opening the disc tray. Before you ask, yes; there's definitely a disc tray. It is clearly labelled in a diagram of the laptop and the tray is clearly visible at the side. However, an eject/open button for the disc tray is nowhere to be found. The diagram of the laptop clearly shows an eject button, and in a video I watched, the guy had the exact same laptop and it had an eject button. But mine doesn't have one! I've pondered the web for answers but I couldn't find any.

Pictures on the official website shows a drive with a button. Is there a small paperclip sized hole in the sliding tray. This will open your tray even if the computer is off.
Open the "Computer" window that shows your Hard disk and your CD/DVD drive. Right click on the CD/DVD drive and eject should open the tray. I can t open the disc tray on my laptop - 1

Maybe it is labeled in the diagram, but unless you actually see a seam where the tray should pop out, then you don't have a tray at all.

Most models of this laptop do not have an optical drive. As they use a common case though (and it is possible to install an optical drive) if there's no drive in place the slot has a cover in place - which is what it sounds is the case with your machine.

If your machine has an optical drive you'll see it in file explorer even if there's no disc inserted!

NOTE THE WORD "OPTIONAL"

Speccy or Belarc Advisor free programs would tell exactly what is inside that laptop model

Some Ideapad 320 laptops have a DVD drive, others don't. My Lenovo does not although there's what appears to be a tray. This is just a dummy as I found out when I opened the laptop to replace the HDD with an SSD. I had a good look around inside, and found that there was no DVD drive, just the dummy.

If I need a DVD drive I use an external USB powered DVD drive. I rarely need a DVD drive at all as I find a 32 GB USB3 flash drive is easier to use, and I can store a number of DVD images on a single flash drive. I can load the flash drive on my desktop PC, and DVD ISO images can be mounted as virtual DVD drives in Windows 8.1 and Windows 10.

I did not check out whether there were motherboard connectors for a DVD drive, so I can't say whether the dummy drive can be replaced with a real one.

What size screen does your Lenovo Ideapad 320 have. It comes in various sizes and the smaller sizes tend to omit a real DVD drive.

Friend your laptop has an eject button I know that you can't find it but it does have one here's another method to open the disc tray go to the icon that says this PC or my computer right click on the DVD or CD see the button that says eject push it with the mouse click your CD will pop open you can also download a eject shortcut and in an emergency if you look on your CD you will see a little paper clip hole that you can put in there to make the tray pop out in an emergency now if your laptop has a slot instead of a tray and has no such thing and one of the function keys is the eject button why don't you just go to the website and read the instructions because it tells you on the website

Uh, are you SURE you have the laptop model with the disc tray? Sometimes companies generate a manual for multiple model types, to save on printing expenses. Otherwise - find the CD Player under Control Panel / Hhomework & SW - there should be a manual open box, once you select the DVD drive.

Common problem. Normally, you would have an eject button towards the right of the top row of the keyboard - it shows a line with an arrow above it pointing upwards. Otherwise, have a look at the cover of the tray, at the side of your computer. You might see a pin hole beside the catch that you would normally press, to open the tray. If you push a paperclip into the hole, this should release the tray, which you can then pull out.
