I got a brand new laptop from Lenovo that was designed for gaming. However, this computer runs games poorly at best. I'm working with a Lenovo y40-80 laptop with an AMD Radeon r9 275 graphics card. I was expecting this thing to be great, even in the comments for the thing, it said it would run Bioshock Infinite smoothly just not on highest settings. I can't even run Bioshock Infinite on the lowest settings without getting serious lag. I did everything from switching the computer settings around for higher performance to making sure AMD Radeon is running my games. And it is. Same thing happened for Battlefield Bad Company 2. My Dell Inspiron could run that game better than this thing and it had an hd 3000 graphics card! So what is the problem with my computer am I doing something wrong or is it essentially broken?
I don't feel like my graphics card is working properly. Am I doing something wrong?
Hi the limitation is a laptop that is where the problems stem from no laptop has the capacity to change it's graphics card. Added to this is the case can't deal with the heat generated from the high end graphics arays used in desktop computers some come with two and three extra fans for cooling why. Good quality graphics chips produce heat lots of it.
so kiddo the answer is simple DITCH the LAPTOP and for far less get a good gaming DESKTOP.
Curious… Since laptops will always lag behind desktops ( performance wise)… Curious… Are you playing this game over Wi-Fi? How strong is your Wi-Fi signal if you are… How much bandwidth do you have ( example if 4 other devices are sharing the bandwidth… That will slow you down.)…
I'd put all the settings back to default… Then not using Wi-Fi.connect directly to your router / modem… See how the game goes…
