I have a lenovo Ideapad it updated and my cursor disappeared What do I do?

To elaborate: The cursor is present on the log on screen but not on the desktop or windows 8 start screen. I already checked my drivers for updates and they are uptodate. I changed settings on my cursor and nothing happened. My computer does not have a hide the cursor key and I did discover that when I open task manager it reappears and stays even when I close task manager but when I restart the computer it is bye bye cursor so I open task manager and voila its good until I restart my computer. What do I do? And Why is it happening?
