I like lenovos yoga. It's perfect for me. Except it doesn't have a dvd drive. I wanna be able to burn stuff onto cds. Onto verbatim (I think they're called) discs. Is there anyway around this? I was thinking whether there's hardware for a separate drive. But if the laptop doesn't come with it… Then don't know how it will burn onto it. The burning is just extra. To be honest. I just need one to discs in. Cause I'll install stuff and be using cds.
I really like this laptop but I have an issue?
With some laptops, you can simply install a DVD drive. Not sure about this one. Either way, though, you could simply buy an external DVD drive that hooks up via USB.
Just get an external dvd/cd/blue ray drive and the only reason I put the blue ray is as just an option you can go with a dvd/cd external drive and they run for about $20
There's a wonderful invention called an external optical drive. You should Google it and see what they're selling for. Most run under $50 I think, and they're all fairly the same. Get a USB expansion hub if you think you'll have multiple USB devices connected to that Yoga.
DVD-R discs can only be burned in DVD-R drives. DVD+R discs can only be burned in DVD+R drives. Be mindful of which drive you have, because the two formats don't mix and match. It doesn't matter which one you pick, there's no difference in quality, performance, or storage space. If you don't want to blow cash on a bunch of discs, consider RWs. They're rewritable, so you can keep one and use it over and over again.
Once you've got your drive and your discs, you're free to go. Any brand will work, so Verbatim, Sony, Memorex, whatever you choose will write fine.
