I want to buy a Lenovo Ideapad Y500, but shoud I get sli?

I don't really know what sli is so please give me a description of that and tell me if I need it for gaming? I play games like fsx, gta, minecraft, just cause 2, euro truck simulator 2, and etc.

Arnak: Actually, the Lenovo IdeaPad Y500 is offered in dual NVIDIA GT 750M configurations. The second GPU takes up the optical drive's slot.

However, due to some of the late reports of microstuttering issues, I might suggest some other laptops without SLI that still do better than a single GT 750M, if you've got the budget for the SLI model.

**Sager NP7352** (NVIDIA GTX 765M, 15.6" 1920x1080 matte display) - **$1046**

- Important: Scroll down to Operating System, and select Windows, unless you can get your own copy for cheaper. Default option is No OS.

If you're /going/ to buy the Lenovo IdeaPad Y500, you need to make sure that you avoid any models that come with the 1366x768 display. 1366x768 resolution in a 15.6" display makes things onscreen large, and 15.6" displays that have 1366x768 resolution tend to be low-grade LCD panels with very poor image quality due to low contrast. This means don't touch the cheapest model. The 1920x1080 display in the other models is great, in that it lets you fit a lot onscreen and has adequate contrast, but the reason you want the good display isn't just because of how good it is, it's also about avoiding a display that's pretty bad.

**Lenovo IdeaPad Y500 750M** (NVIDIA GT 750M, 15.6" 1920x1080 glossy display) - **$809**

- Take this model: http://shop.lenovo.com/...:0000C50A:
- Click the activate coupon button in the cart.
- Note: No power-saving NVIDIA Optimus (switchable graphics). But its larger-than-average-capacity battery often makes up for that.
- Avoid any variants/models that come with the 1366x768 display instead of the 1920x1080 display.

Sorry but you can't have SLI on a laptop pc as it has built in graphics.

SLI works by linking 2 graphics cards together with a cable or bridge component.

Thus giving twice the graphics power but is only available on desktops with the right motherboard.
