It is good but if you want experience real gaming consider y510P.

It's true about the overheating but the y510p is great it's the best deal I have ever seen come from a laptop. Just get a cooling pad for the laptop and it should be fine. You probably don't need it when you are the go with light gaming but it's better to be safe than sorry.

Normally laptops are not good for gaming.

The laptop is every good but no laptop is good for gaming due to it overheating etc.
The laptop however will be good for editing due to the memory and CPU spec's.
