Is 5400rpm HDD enough for gaming and performance?

My Laptop: LENOVO Y580
Interl(R) Core(TM) i7-3610QM CPU @ 2.30 GHz
RAM: 8.00 GB
64-bit Operating System
Seagate HDD 1SATA TB/TO 8MB Cache 5400RPM
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660M

Added (1). I'm the most dumbest person when it comes to computers. I was just wondering.
Husband has the exact same laptop as mine, the only difference is his is:

Seagate Momentus XT ST750LX003 750GB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache 2.5".

He took my laptop to the repair shop when my HDD died. They installed -Seagate HDD 1SATA TB/TO 8MB Cache 5400RPM is what they installed

Yeah that's a good machine it'll be enough for gaming Hard drive speed mainly determines the boot time and recognition of data which means even though it may but slower than say a ssd it's still enough to game fine

It should work. Its not a matter of enough or not. It all depends on what is acceptable for you. With 5400rpm the games would load a bit lower compared to 7200rpm. It will not be a huge difference so you might not even notice compared to SSD's which are a lot quicker. During gameplay it should all be the same more or less. Its only during the start of the game and in-between levels where it reads from the hard drive.

Update: His hard disk is definitely much faster than yours but yours has more space. As I previously mentioned both do the job but it depends how extreme you want to take it.

Your HDD won't effect your gaming performance really at all… The RPM will effect load times though. So you should be fine on that front.
